Asda is now the latest store to drop singles from its shelves, mainly due to digital downloads.
I guess it wont be too much longer, before cd’s on shelves as some of us have known, is another thing that others will read about as history π

Was going to give a plug to a event down here where I live , but in true UK fashion the website for the Southend Airshow is down π
I will attach the link in case they do fix it and suprised they are not on the ball with this , given that surely this weekend would be a good time to have there website working!
Anyway, if you are down there or will be there, drop me a email and maybe we can all meet up π
Whatever you do this bank holiday weekend in the UK, I hope the weather is not as bad as its predicted it will be π
“Electronics retailer Currys says it will no longer stock cassette tapes, and cassette equipment is also scheduled to vanish in the next 18 months”
“The tape was born in 1963 when Philips launched the format which went on to gain popularity in the 1970s and 80s. The Thatcher years saw the biggest boom in cassette buying as portable tape players, led by Sony’s Walkman, allowed music fans to listen to music on the go.
In 1989, at the height of sales of pre-recorded music cassettes, 83 million such tapes were bought by UK shoppers, while 1990 saw 95 million blank tapes shifted.
Three years later, however, its star began to fade with the launch of the CD and in 1993 the shiny disks were outselling analogue tapes. This year, Currys expects to sell less than one million blank tapes and envisages sales of music tapes will be “negligible”.”

A rather touching story for me was to hear that Scotty (John Doohan) from the original series of Star Trek who died
in 2005 at the age of 85, got his wish yesterday and his ashes were taken in space by Spaceport America, a commercial spaceport in the desert of southern New Mexico.
Good luck and fairwell to one of the worlds favorite actors in Star Trek, and with him the spirit that nothing is ever impossible and always fixable π
DoohanΓ’β¬β’s widow, Wende, said her husband was eager to reach the final frontier: Γ’β¬ΕHe would be ecstatic. He would be the one pressing the button. He totally was so into space.Γ’β¬Β
God’s speed Scotty.
Came across these on ebay and brought back very many memories and for all those who ever owned these bikes and the fun times back then, have a trip down memory lane.
Found these on Ebay uk for sale and if I had the room, would buy them myself π
The fizzy with its top speed of 50mph downhill with a strong wind! π Remember those pedals??? lol
I can’t believe it was almost 31 years ago I got my brand new fizzy. Oh my , am I really that old now? LOL
And remember the RD250? and the Allspeed expansion chambers that when fitted made this sound awesome!
I have a sample from the web someplace of that noise they made, still send shivers down my spine hearing it.
Ah yes the noise, the smell of pure 2 stoke engines screaming there nuts off……
Great days, great people and great times. π
