The end of buying cheap cd’s online?

The British Phonographic Industry took legal action against CDWow and won a ruling for them to pay £35million in damages. I guess now people in the UK will have to carry on paying more than many other countries for there music on cd’s.

The company is considering an appeal.

Wet May bank holiday

For sure with almost 2 inches of rain and a total of 3 inches, my word May has been terrible! I feel sorry for all those that either came to Southend for the Airshow or were trying to take part in it. I heard very few planes fly over and I guess they tried there best for those brave enough, to brave the wet and cold winter weather!  To add insult to injury, the weather for Tues when it was all over was much better. Such a shame for all the invents over the hols and I was myself looking forward to going down to the see front here and having a mingle and watching the show. Lets all hope that maybe next year, we can have some summer weather in a summer month for a change! Anyway, got some more work done on my Honda CX500 Eurosport that I picked up last year and hopefuly if we do actually get some summer this year, will have some fun out on 2 wheels again after a break of I guess 13/14 years 😉 . Anyone wishing for a ride someplace on the summer , drop me a line, more so if like me, you have been bitten again by the draw of a bike 😉 I also recently picked up a Honda CB600 and that will be also a project for either later in the year or next summer… Take care all you bikers and peace and care to you all.

Southend Airshow washout 2007

Sadly as the weather people predicted, the weather Sunday 28th May was terrible, and although I never strayed further than my shed out back, I doubt there was much flying at the Airshow down here. It did stop for a few mins around midday and I see and heard a few helicopters and a couple of jets fly over, but it was all very quiet and I guess there was not too much to see down at the Pier. Acording to my own weather station we had over half a inch of rain yesterday 🙁

As Monday starts here and as I write we have had yet another half a inch of rain already, although looking at my own readings etc, my guess is maybe today will be a better day with not so much rain for the show, but its going to feel very cold down there and more like jan/feb weather, so wrap up really warm if you venture down there!

Anyway, I do hope the weather is much better, A real shame as Sunday there was also a first time low flyby of a Jumbo jet Boeing 747 – 400 due for Sunday and I think that was only due for Sunday 🙁 But for what is planned for today if the bloody weather holds can be found at the Airshow site and for the purposed Timetables subject to weather conditions check the link at the end of this post.

Take care and fingers crossed it is better today!

Longhorn reloaded

Intresting that a project is being built on the old windows Longhorn code and they have labeled it “Longhorn Reloaded”

I remember trying that out before Microsoft dropped it and worked on and brought to market what we know now as Windows Vista. The Longhorn version back then has some really neat touches and its intresting to see what this team of people do with the old code 🙂

From there site:-

Longhorn Reloaded is a Project dedicated to the revival of the Operating System known as Code Name “Longhorn”. To put the projects aims simply, we aim to finish off what Microsoft started before the operating system was canceled. It is a modification of Windows 6.0.4074, which was originally released during the 2004 Windows Hardware Engineers Conference.”

More info and downloads at there project site

Asda to drop cd singles

Asda is now the latest store to drop singles from its shelves, mainly due to digital downloads.

I guess it wont be too much longer, before cd’s on shelves as some of us have known, is another thing that others will read about as history 😉
