InnoTek VirtualBox

If you are into Virtualization, then check out the newly released VirtualBox from Innotek.

From using it so far, this seems very fast compared to the other offerings out there.

A bit basic as regards to settings and some bugs, but it is open source and will be worked on and updated a lot over the months for sure.

Available for Windows, Linux and soon a Mac OSX Intel version.

Well worth a try and shall be a intresting year this one for virtualization, and we have yet to see how Microsofts Hypervisor
will shake out against some pretty good solutions already, when they get around to releasing there Beta at long last , which should be soon I hear.
For now pop over to Virtualbox and give there great product a check out on there website

Doomsday clock edges closer

Intresting to read that the Doomsday clock how now been moved 2 mins closer to midnight, in fact the clock now reads 5 mins to midnight.
I personally agree with this as no doubts the world is again going through a more uncertain time at present.

With more countries now building or gaining access to there own nuclear weapons, it is a worry whether they will have the same values as others who already have them, and that is using them is a no brainer as both sides will get wiped out in the event of using them.

With some places in the world of the view dying for there cause is worthwhile, you cant see the same logic working there as before.

I am still not convinced that climate change is as bigger worry as some think.

Yes it plays a part, but personally I still think a lot is to do with the cycles the planet goes through.

But at least for some, like the Labour Government in the UK its a great excuse to use to raise tax’s as always 😉

I do hope and wish that instead of the Blair and Bush way of attacking and invading other countries, that in the future , those who take over from both of them have a bit more common sense and are willing to tackle it from a more peaceful angle, and maybe that in turn help this planet to get through yet another worrying era that we seem to be entering.

Xbox 360 with HDMI ?

It seems Engadget got hold of some photos and info about a Version 2 of the Xbox and it shows a unit having a HDMI socket.

Always thought it strange when the machine was launched there was no HDMI socket built in.

If this model is coming, it is going to upset a lot of current XBOX owners I am sure.

Really cant see the logic of not having this there from the start myself.

Anyway, pop over to Engadget and take a look.

The second Xbox 360 revealed: codename Zephyr
